Lymphoscintigraphy
General
Tracer: Sulfur Colloid
Give radiotracer and see where it goes, typically to identify sentinel lymph node
Most commonly for melanoma and breast cancer
Surgeon will then use a gamma camera to identify the node in surgery
They also use blue dye to identify the node/drainage pattern
Sometimes will not obtain images after tracer is given for breast cancer because the axillary node is easily identified by gamma camera in the OR
Cutaneous malignancy (melanoma) —> intradermal injection
Breast cancer —> subcutaneous areolar or peri-tumoral
All purpose parallel hole collimator used
