Non-specific Lung disease

Differentiation Syndrome (All Trans Retinoic Acid (ATRA) Syndrome )

• Patients with Acute promyelocytic leukemia get chemo drug —> causes tumor cells to mature —> capillaries leak —> pulmonary edema

  • Also seen with AML

• Classically, but not exclusively with ATRA

• Basically looks like non-cardiogenic pulmonary edema

• Tx - steroids
