• Asbestos related disease - classically spares costophrenic angles

• Infection - especially TB

• Unilateral - think intentional reasons and non-systemic disease

  • Pleurodesis

  • Radiation induced

Thoracic splenosis

• Auto-transplantation of spleen after a trauma to the pleural surface

• Looks like lobulated left sided pleural based mass
