Dehiscent Jugular Bulb

  • Presents as a blue retrotympanic mass at the posterior-inferior aspect of the TM

  • Basically there is a focal defect in the sigmoid plate that allows the jugular vein to push itself and get stuck in there

Salivary Gland Masses

Pleomorphic Adenoma (Benign Mixed tumor)

  • Most common salivary gland mass

  • Parotid > other glands, can be seen in lacrimal glands too

    • Usually in superficial lobe of parotid

  • Circumscribed

  • Homogenous enhancement

  • T1 dark T2 bright with low T2 capsule

  • Hypo-echoic on US

  • Resection is curative but recurrence is common
