Ultrasound

  • Basically 3 flavors

    • Spectral - same as color + gives waveform for vessel flow characteristics

    • Color - gives color for directionality of vessel flow

    • Gray Scale - just US, no fancy features

  • Doppler Angle

    • Placed by techs

    • Line is placed parallel to vessel

    • Second line drawn by angle of waves coming from the probe

    • If the angle formed by intersection of these two lines is >60 = bad, need to keep between 0-60 deg

  • Waveform

    • Direction = above or below line

    • Velocity = distance from line

    • Acceleration = slope of curve
